The end of Comic Stores
Throughout this corona epidemic, numerous industries are tanking hard. Restaurants are being forced to deliver or takeout before they are forced to close. The airline industry has had to have financial help from the government and worst of all the comic industry might finally have it's last nail in it's coffin. To put the situation lightly there has to be some kind of miracle to come out of this situation with any good news. Due to the social distancing measures stores have lost numerous customers. Comic stores though have it hard, they already fight to stay in business from online publishers and online sales. A industry that has minimal profit to begin with is now in serious trouble. To top it all off, major comic retailers such as Marvel and DC are not helping in the slightest. About a week ago Marvel announced its new line of comic books. The New Warriors. This series was suppose to entice new buyers and save the stores. But the plan backfired. The trailer for the new line have a 16-1 dislike to like ration which means that for every person who liked it sixteen people did not. It's insane! To top it all off the trailer was so offensive to certain fans that some people are now refusing to purchase from Marvel. In what was supposed to be the white knight that saved the dying stores. Marvel decided to ostracize half of their fans and force political opinions down its readers thoughts that they are essentially killing the stores themselves. In Marvels attempt to market to a audience that does not read comic books they lost their crucial fans in the industries moment of need.
